She was born in Tift County, Georgia as the daughter of C. B. White and Louise Turner White. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we are deeply grateful for the sweet memories we made with her and will hold them near to our hearts forever. Her last couple of years were spent near family in North Carolina where she got to be surrounded by those she loved with her whole heart.
She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother better known as mama, nanny, and nanny bob.
She leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Jason Prickett and Jeannie and Wade Hennum; two brothers, Johnny and Jerry White; five grandchildren, Brandon Prickett (Little Man), Andrew Prickett (Drewbee), Matthew Prickett (Matty), Emily Prickett (Babygirl), and Joshua Hennum (Punkin); and five great-grandchildren.
She was also proceeded in death by her husband Ray Ownby, both parents, and one sister, Patsy White Jones.
She deeply cared for everyone in her life and looked out for the needs of others. She wanted to be there for the big things in our lives and the little things. Never failing to make a friend wherever she went, she touched the lives of many in all the different places she has been. We will always remember the nicknames she gave us and the love she showed.
Her final resting place will be in one of her favorite places, the mountains of Tennessee. Nanny, we will be watching for Cardinals.
