Sevda and family, 
It goes without saying that Edward was a man who made a huge impact on many lives, and I for one couldn’t have been more blessed to have known him on a professional level first and I’m very fortunate that we became good friends. Special thoughts and prayers to the Mirza family today. 

Dear Sevda and the entire Mirza family,
I started my journey with Edward when I bought my Redroof inn in Atlanta. He Quickly got the team ready to assist me and make me overcome my fears on how can I run a hotel with little knowledge. He simply said just go with the flow and all will be fine very calmly. I said Edward it’s easy for you to say but he was right those words of encouragement gave me all the strength and with the team I was on my way. So on your beautiful birthday I want to say thank you so much for blessings and I will keep your name alive by teaching others what you have taught me. You will always be in me.  Miss you 🙏🙏🙏

Dear Sevda and the Mirza Family, 
I have had such a heavy heart since I received the news of Edward's passing. I can't tell you how much I appreciated being a friend and colleague of his at Accor and Red Roof Inns. I learned so much from Edward and he was so respectful of others and made time for everyone he touched. We first starting working together when you moved to Cary almost 20 years ago. His contributions to the organization were many and he was the ultimate coach, mentor, leader, colleague and friend. I will miss him greatly and will always remember him as a example of putting his family first, earning the respect of everyone he met and always looking for the good in people. He was a first class individual in every way.

Sevda and Yasmine, and all the Mirza family, Edward and I shared many special moments in nearly 2 decades working together.  He was an adventurer. We travelled to Brazil together a few years ago and had a day to explore when we arrived. Edward’s idea of a city tour was hailing a cab driver who spoke no English, yet somehow Edward made him understand that we wanted to see the sites.  We spent all afternoon seeing parks, museums, shops, and the driver was a heckuva bodyguard too.  Then there was the hotel owner near the Amazon who’s only spoken English was “more beer?” Thank you Edward for sharing some great times together, John V
