Elizabeth "Betty" Buckley Gigante

Betty was a resident of Florida for many years until moving to North Carolina in 2013. She worked for the Martin County Public Schools system at Stuart Middle School. Betty enjoyed caring for her family and friends, cooking, baking, jewelry making and ceramics.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Gigante in 2010.

Betty is survived by her 5 children: Rickey Beekman, Kathy Rasmussen, Mara Gigante, Peaches Schuerman, Maureen March and son-in-law, Ken March; 8 grandchildren: Kari Huskes, Rick Rasmussen, Julie Rasmussen, Paige Hancock, Kelly Flaitz, Tyler March, Grant March and Rickey Beekman Jr.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Lawndale Manor staff for the compassionate and loving care provided to their mother during her time there. They would also like to thank Liberty Hospice for their time and commitment to Miss Betty and her family in her last months.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 200 S.E. Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27511
