Harriet June McDonald, 83, of Cary, NC and formerly of Yonkers, NY, died December 31, 2012. She was born in Mount Vernon, NY on April 13, 1929 to the late Nancy and Harry Carlsen. Harriet was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She especially loved being a grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Arthur McDonald; son, Michael McDonald and wife, Diane, of Yonkers, NY; daughter, Barbara Ann Wheaton and husband, Nick, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Tommy, Melissa, Billy, Matt and Kristina; and great grandchild, Allison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Christabelle and Corrine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Road, Apex. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary.
