Inge was born in Germany to Josephine and Richard. When she was one year old, her parents moved to America for work. Inge stayed in Germany and was raised by her aunts. At age nine, Inge’s parents brought her to America, where she built a new life.
Before WWII, Inge married Werner. They were married until Werner’s death, almost 60 years later. Together they built a successful business and raised two children, Garret and Ingrid.
Inge had a passion for travel and art, and (more recently) bingo!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Werner.
She is survived by her son, Garret; her daughter, Ingrid; her grandchildren Kirsten, Sky, Anna, and Tawfan; and her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Eli, Owen, Jaya, and Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 14 at Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary, NC.
If you feel moved to honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, we invite you to spend a moment in nature. She and Werner shared a deep love of birds. You might feed the birds in your backyard, take time to enjoy the outdoors, or make a donation to the National Audubon Society.
