Ira Ray Greer

Ira was born November 2, 1948 in Boone, NC, where he lived until moving to Morrisville in 1955. He was a Korean War veteran of the US Army.

Ira was preceded in death by his father, Joe Hagaman Greer.

He is survived by his mother, Julie Day Greer of Morrisville; wife, Sheryl Hall Greer of Cary; daughter, Michelle Greer Barillaro and her husband, Jim of Cary; sons, Joey Ray Greer of Creedmoor; and Steven Alen Greer of Cary; brother Joseph William Greer and his wife Nellie of Apex; and four grandchildren, Cole Walker Barillaro; Carly Day Barillaro; Julie Alexandra Greer; and Devin Ann Bill.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511, with Rev. Myron Yandle officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held at First Baptist Church of Morrisville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Morrisville.
