Jane Wands Guerreri

Jane Wands Guerreri of Cary, NC passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021 at the age of 77 after a 3 year struggle with an autoimmune disease that was complicated by the COVID-19 influenza. She was the daughter of the late William Ross Wands and Frances Wands of Salisbury, NC and the beloved wife of Stephen J. Guerreri for 52 years. Family and friends were the most important things in her life.

She is survived by her husband Stephen and their two children Vincent James and Stephen Jack, Jr (Leslie). She was Nonna to two beautiful grandchildren Haley and Asher. She is also survived by her sister Frances Jamerson (Charlie) of Raleigh, NC and her brother Ross Wands (Ann) of Winston-Salem, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

She graduated from the University of South Carolina in Accounting and for her first job, was one of the first woman contract auditors for the US Government. Jane then worked for various companies until 1987 when she became the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Systems Technology Associates, Inc. until she retired in 2006.While work was something she excelled in, an important theme of Jane’s life was volunteerism. While her children were in Farmington Woods Elementary school, she was a classroom teacher’s helper, grade mother, treasurer of the PTA and volunteer of the year. She also helped run a soup kitchen in downtown Raleigh for many years and until 2 years ago, she also volunteered at Meals on Wheels.

She lived a full life with many close friends and a loving family. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Sunday (1 - 31) at Brown-Wynne Cary from 3 pm to 5 pm.
