Jean Hobby Ladd

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Guy Richard Ladd; daughter, Susan Alexander and husband Rob; son, Richard Ladd; and grandchildren, Ladd Alexander, Stone Alexander, Jakob Ladd, and Virginia Ladd.

Jean is a 1960 graduate of Wake Forest University. After graduation she married her college sweetheart and returned to Cary to work in the family business, Hobby Supply Company. She was a charter member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. Jean and her husband, Dick, worked to place a YMCA in Cary and also incorporated and chaired Cary Visual Art. She also served on the Wake Med Hospital Board. Jean was passionate about her family and community. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at First United Methodist Church in downtown Cary on January 9, 2015 at three o’clock in the afternoon. Visitation will follow the service.
