Jim was a key member of my management team at ABB. I remember Jim for his upbeat personality and “can-do” attitude. His deep knowledge of project management processes earned him the respect of his colleagues worldwide, enabling him to work effectively with many diverse cultures.

I did not hear about Jim's passing until today.  I left him a birthday voice mail and didn't hear back and thought that was not like him.  Of all my bosses at ABB, Jim and Linda were the best.  It was great to retire from ABB with Jim and Linda at my side. 

We have now sold our home in Fuquay-Varina and living in Florida.

To the family of Jim Triompo,

all of our team where deeply shocked to hear that Jim passed away. Some of us know Jim since many years, even while our company had been changing names over the decades. We not only lost a valuable colleague and team member who you could look up to and fully trust, we also lost a good friend who has always lend an ear in case of need. As a team we will always cherish the memories we shared with Jim, and we will always remember him for his ability to stay calm and structured even in the midst of a storm, humor and care.

For me Jim was “an institution” in the company he worked for, and I still remember my first reviews with him when I joined this company some decades back (even if it has another name now). On those reviews I had the first encounters with Jim, and I still remember the calmness and structured approach, toughness but fair and honest. I remember this as I was, and I’m still deeply impressed how positively Jim managed to guide all of us through challenges and opportunities. All of the discussions during various encounters where always so constructive and positive, where I could learn so much from Jim. What I personally always admired was Jim's ability to remain so calm and focused even in "the heat of the battle" and to never lose the focus. I was therefore very honored as I had the chance to work in the same team. In his last lecture Randy Pausch said, that the things we will regret in our life are the things we didn’t or couldn’t do, so for me this is clearly that I never had a chance to meet Jim in person.

So, the life in Jim's years where truly massive for me Jim as a real landmark which I can only say thanks. I will miss him but I’m sure when times comes, we will see ourselves on the other side in the presence of his Almighty Father and son Jesus.

Genevieve and I are so deeply sorry for your loss.  The memories I have of laughing and playing golf with Neal and Jim are a blessing.  

Jim was a funny, kind and gentle man.  He selflessly offered wise words and guiding advice whenever you had a moment with him.  I'm grateful for the time I got to spend with him.  

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids at this time.

We never never met in person, only in virtual meetings, Jim was a very appreciated member of the team. but Jim was much more than a colleague to me.  His kindness, his calm, the smile in his eyes were a source of peace and well-being. Jim was a beautiful person and this appeared in all the talks we had.  I was lucky enough to exchange with him until very recently. I will miss him tremendously.
