Joan is survived by her husband, William C. “Bill” Edwards; children, James Allen Poole, Joanie Poole Brooks, Sylvia Poole Wilburn and Donna Edwards Jones; grandchildren, James A. Poole, Jr., Danielle B. Wilburn, Samantha Poole, Halie C. Brooks, David H. Brooks and Mackenzie M. Jones; and brothers, Eugene Dudley and Sam Manning.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the funeral home.
