

John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bobbie Stubbs Humphrey, who stood by his side with unwavering love and devotion. His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Kirsten Humphrey Wray, her husband Brian, and their precious daughter, Isabella. He is also survived by his son, Jonathan Blake Humphrey, his wife Christan, and their adored children, Jacob, and Caleigh. John's sister, Nora Francis Carpenter, and his sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Konkol, also mourn his passing.
John was a man whose deep faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ permeated every aspect of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of profound honor and unwavering integrity which touched his family, countless friends, and all fortunate enough to cross his path. John possessed a truly generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer support. His larger-than-life sense of humor brought joy and laughter to every gathering, leaving enduring smiles on the faces of those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Clifton Humphrey and Beulah McDuffie Humphrey, six older siblings, one younger sibling, and his In-laws Robert and Gladys Stubbs who undoubtedly welcomed him home with open arms.
Though his absence will be deeply felt by so many, the lasting mark John made on this world will continue to resonate for generations. His giving heart, his steadfast character, and his infectious laughter will forever be remembered.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511, followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
