Juanita Pauline Kingsbury Hayes was born December 13th, 1930 in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was in her roots to be a beach beauty. Her love for Wrightsville Beach, especially the original Lumina Station, and Carolina Beach always remained a special place in her heart. As a little girl she was smitten with all dogs, specifically boxers, and had many throughout her life.
After graduating from Wilmington High School she met the love of her life, Harold Dwight Hayes, and got married July 9th, 1949. Dwight was a Green Beret Special Forces Airborne in the Army so they spent many years traveling the world being stationed in places like Okinawa, Germany and France. She embraced the Military life and was rewarded with five children. Later in life Juanita enjoyed her career at Cooper Tools in Morrisville NC making lifelong friends, including her boss, Chuck Lysaght.
She was an oldies music queen and loved to jitterbug with the best of them. She could turn any situation into a funny one very candidly and had the ability to be compassionate and say the right thing when it was most needed.
