Katherine was born May 7, 1953 in New Bern, NC to late Ferdinand and Carrie Lee Dennis Stewart. She was a graduate Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Katherine was a member of White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary.
Katherine is survived by her husband of 42 years, Micah Eugene Rickard; son, Jason Micah Rickard and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Nancy Stewart Conchin; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 12pm Thursday, December 22, 2016 at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the church.
