

Dr. Kim Ludovici finished her courageous battle with brain cancer on October 9th, 2010. She now sits peacefully and pain-free, with her Lord. Kim was born in NY on July 20, 1961. Her family traveled extensively while she was young, spending nearly every long-weekend and summer exploring new places in a caravan of travel trailers. After HS she graduated from Cornell University, NC State University and ultimately earned her Ph.D. in Forest Soils from the University of Georgia. Especially after the cancer was diagnosed, she never met a stranger, or lacked a smile.
Kim leaves behind her precious children, Katie, Julie and Brian. She is also survived by her parents, Edward and Janice Haley, one sister, Dianne Malin (Ron), 4 aunts, 2 uncles, 14 cousins, 8 nieces, 3 nephews and a large extended family.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic church in Apex, NC. The family invites friends to celebrate her life at a party at her home following the service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Friendsville, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund set up for Kim’s children at Coastal Federal Credit Union, 401 N. Harrison Avenue, Cary, NC 27511
