Born in 1951, Linda lived a life defined by devotion to her family, professional excellence, and quiet strength. Linda graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1969 and earned her degree in accounting from University of Wisconsin in 1973. After passing the CPA exam, she built a distinguished career in accounting and administration, serving as Controller of Medical College of Wisconsin during the important transition when the medical school became independent from Marquette University School of Medicine.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Linda was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Dunne, PhD; her sons Benjamin Dunne, MD, Jeffrey Dunne, PhD, and Lane Dunne, MT (ASCP); and her daughters-in-law Anna Dunne, MD, and Jess Kobren. She is also survived by her brother, Rich, of Arizona, and her sister, Sandra, of Oregon.
Linda took immense pride in raising her three sons and supporting their academic and athletic achievements. She especially cherished the many years spent traveling throughout the United States and Canada attending hockey games and championships, including Ben’s two Michigan high school state hockey championships and Jeff’s national championship at Michigan State University.
Outside of her successful CPA career and dedication to family, Linda found joy in gardening, cooking, collecting art, and cheering from the stands at countless hockey arenas. Her warmth, intelligence, generosity, and unwavering support made her an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, and friend. She could not have been a more loving mother and wife, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
