Lynne Frances DeFilippis

Lynne was born February 7, 1944 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Anthony Alfred Reale and Carmella Camille Maurino Reale. She graduated from A.B. Davis High School, Mount Vernon, NY in 1962. Lynne married Joe soon thereafter. She was a successful sales person in retail with over 10 years at Sears. In later years she attended Dutchess Community College where she made the Dean's List for several semesters and was inducted in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She liked to volunteer with the Election Board during elections. Lynne had a strong faith in God and was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wappingers Falls, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joann Pennella. Lynne is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph J. DeFilippis; daughters, Dawn-Marie Barnard and her husband, Seph of Raleigh; DJ Thomas and her husband, Colin of Apex; and Daniele Armstrong and her husband, Mike of Hiram, GA; her sisters, Toni Jean Acuna of Trinity, FL; Camille Speare of Clearwater, FL; and Donna Denapoles of Stamford CT; and her brother, George Reale of Danbury, CT; 8 grandchildren, Adam Barnard; Alexander Armstrong; Christopher Armstrong; Brandon Armstrong; Victoria Armstrong; Katheryn Armstrong; Rachel Thomas; and Noah Thomas.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11am at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex, NC. The visitation time to receive family and friends was Friday, March 8, 2013 from 7-9pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511.
