Marie was born September 3, 1916 in Willow Spring, NC to the late Eddie Marvin Gray and Estelle Dove Gray. She worked as a nurse for many years.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Guy Spencer; and son, John Steven West.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Stallings of Broadway; son, Bobby M. Dupree and his wife, Kathleen of Columbus, MS; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; and many neices and nephews.
She will be missed by her family, many friends and loved ones.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 23, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Burial will follow the service at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens in Raleigh. A visitation will be held 3:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake/Harnett County or the American Cancer Society.
