Marilyn Virginia Dalrymple, age 68, died peacefully on October 26, 2014 at her home in Cary, North Carolina. Marilyn was born on August 15, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the youngest daughter of Stafford and Florence Palmer. She enjoyed many childhood memories in Minnesota before the family moved to California when she was a teenager.
In 1968, she married the love of her life, Dan Dalrymple, and together they had two children, Kimberly and Brian. The family lived in Southern California for many years before relocating to North Carolina in 1992. Dan and Marilyn recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life. Marilyn was an amazing Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Her biggest love was family, including her three granddaughters whom lovingly called her “Gram”.
Marilyn was an active member at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC, where she sang in the church choir for eighteen years. Her church family included many treasured friends that meant everything to her. The outpouring of love from these friends has been beyond measure these last few months, for which we will be forever grateful. She also enjoyed a fulfilling 25 year career at Siemens Medical Systems. Marilyn originally began working for Siemens in Cerritos, CA and completed her years of service in Cary, NC. Her “work family” was incredibly special to her and such an amazing support during these final months.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Dan Dalrymple; sister, Danelle Seymour of Boca Raton, FL, daughter, Kim Forcier of San Antonio, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Janey Dalrymple of Walkerton, VA, granddaughters, Ellie Forcier, Morgan Dalrymple and Olivia Dalrymple, and a number of other relatives and very close friends.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Friday, October 31, 2014 at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC, with the family receiving friends following the service at the church. A 4pm graveside service will immediately follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC.
