Mary Elizabeth Jones

She was born in Wilson County NC to Luther and Elsie Coggins. Mary Lib was raised in Wilson County and graduated from Hardbargers Business College in Raleigh before marrying Bill Jones and moving to Cary in 1950. She worked at Hardbargers, Durham Life, sold Luzier cosmetics and for Dr. Ed Davis, DDS. Mary Lib loved her Lord and regularly attended church and taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church of Cary and was a longtime member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church.

Mary Lib was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, William A Jones, Jr.

Mary Lib is survived by her sister, Dot Bass of Wilson; two sons, Craig and his wife Pam, Terry and his wife Beth; eight grandchildren, Meghann, Steven, Merri Gray, Leah, Dustin, Jamie, Noelle and Braxton. She has three great-grandchildren, Grayce, Kaitlyn, and Collin. She had many nieces and nephews and a loving and dedicated caregiver, Melissa Pinckney-Jones.

Anyone who knew Mary Lib was an instant friend and many called her Mom. She loved everyone and her special friends at church, the birthday group and Casa Del Playa.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.
