Michael Joseph Meade III

Michael Joseph Meade III., born on March 15, 1944, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 81. He was a resident of Cary, North Carolina. Michael was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Michael J. Meade Jr. and Rose (O'Donnell) Meade.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lana J. (Harritt) Meade, his three sons; Colin, David and Ian Meade, his three grandchildren; Devin, Davis and Hudson Meade; his brother Thomas Meade, and his sister Maureen Meade.

In 1990 he started working for Cooper Tools in Waukesha, WI as the Controller and later as the Chief Financial Officer in Apex, NC. He retired after 19 years of service and dedication. Michael’s favorite past times were traveling, reading and spending time outside, either gardening, or at the pool or beach. While working for Chrysler in Detroit, he was a member of The Big Brother Association. While working for Johnston’s in Wisconsin, he enjoyed coaching his sons youth baseball teams and was active in Indian Guides.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and traveling to new places.

Michael was so proud of his three sons and his three grandchildren, who all brought so much joy into his life. Their time spent with him will always bring such great memories of their Dad and Grandad. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends that have known him through the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Brown Wynne of Cary, located at 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC, on December 5, 2025, starting at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Tunnel to Towers charity would be appreciated.
