Miriam Weidner

Miriam is survived by her husband, Paul Weidner, brother, Greg Beard, niece, Sarah Beard Stokes, and cousins Beverly McGee and Carol Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Howard and Dorothy Beard.

A Service of Remembrance in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC. Visitation will be at 1:00 followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00.

Miriam was born in Baltimore, MD, on December 22, 1947 where she lived until 1950 when the family moved to Rural Hall, NC, where her father was the minister at Rural Hall Baptist Church. The family moved to Coats, NC, in 1960 where her father was the minister at Coats Baptist Church. She attended Coats High School and graduated in 1966. She attended the University of Maryland for one year before moving to Raleigh, NC, where she began her career at the NC Employment Security Commission where she rose to become a department head before retiring after 30 years.

After retiring from the state she enjoyed working part time in a women’s clothing boutique. She also loved spending time at the beach and traveling in Europe.
