7-17-1934 to 10-8-2023
Norma was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She was the daughter of Maude Sally Johnson (of Kodak, Tennessee) and Robert Hoyle Ferguson (of Knoxville, Tennessee). As a young woman, she worked as an illustrator for O’Falks Department store in Tampa, Florida.
Norma married Charles W. Berger of Macungie, Pennsylvania on April 10, 1954. They moved to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania where they raised four children: Cynthia (Art Ball), David (Liisa), Steven (Ina), and Patricia (Mark Wood). Norma was preceded in death by her brother Wayne, and is survived by her brother Robert, husband Charles, four children, as well as 10 grandchildren: Gwyneth, Nicolas, Ryan, Michael, Carl, Julianne, Ashley, Andy, Dana, Jamie, and 7 great-grandchildren: Keenan, Skyler, Phoenix, Aurelia, Madison, Landon, and Annika.
Norma was an artist who created beautiful watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings, often of nature, flowers, animals, or of children, including paintings of all of her grandchildren. She painted several murals, and her paintings were exhibited for years in art shows in Phoenixville, PA. She was also a skilled seamstress/quilter and loved to garden, filling her yard with gorgeous flowers (she especially loved daisies!) and delicious tomatoes. She and Charlie, husband of 69 years, were active members and volunteers at the Baptist Church of Phoenixville as well as the Phoenixville Y.M.C.A. Norma and Charlie enjoyed square dancing and traveling in their younger days. They moved to Apex, North Carolina in 2007 to be closer to family and enjoy the warmer weather, attending Woodhaven Baptist Church. Later she and Charlie moved to Woodland Terrace in Cary, North Carolina.
