

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married the love of her life, Marty Genzlinger, on January 11, 1964, and together they built a beautiful family, blessed with five children: Alvin (Laurie), Teresa (Dale), Roger (Betsy), Douglas, and Diana (Patrick). Their family grew to include seven grandchildren: James, Andrew, Aaron (Caitlin), AJ, Jacquee, Sean, and Hailey, and four great-grandchildren: Greyson, Karsen, Peyton, and Oliver. Pat is also survived by brothers: Charlie (Carol) and Mike.
Pat and Marty shared a joyful marriage until Marty's passing in 2010. Pat's career in customer service was marked by her exceptional interpersonal skills and her warm, outgoing personality. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life as she found great fulfillment in volunteering at the Sanford Library, where she made a lasting impact.
A devout Catholic, Pat shared her faith with her family and was an avid baker, known for her delicious creations. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A woman of many talents, Pat was particularly skilled at playing cards, with a special fondness for pinochle. She and Marty passed down their love for the game to future generations, fostering a family tradition of card-playing enthusiasts. Pat's home was a hub of activity, where family gatherings were filled with games, lively conversations, and the enjoyment of good wine.
Patricia Genzlinger will be remembered for her unwavering love, her loyalty as a friend, and her ability to bring people together. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the family she cherished so deeply.
A memorial service will be held at Brown Wynne in Cary, NC, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
