Rebecca Hobbs Braswell

She was born July 2, 1925 in Johnston County, youngest daughter of Matthew Malone and Esther Barbour Hobbs. She was married to J.P. Braswell Jr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. Surviving are sons Bill Braswell and wife Cecilia, David Braswell, grandchildren Lauren B. and John Gardner, Scott and Matthew Braswell, 1 great-grandchild.

Becky was retired from the N.C. Dept. of Revenue and later worked as a hostess for Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. In addition to her love for her family, she shared her passion for music by serving many years as a pianist and organist in several area churches. She was also well known for her years of service as a leader of both youth and adult Bible Study classes.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be at 2 pm Friday, May 16, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
