Richard "Rick" Anthony Dunn

After a courageous six year battle with cancer, Richard (Rick) Dunn, passed away in his home in Redington Shores, Florida, on March 13, 2013, surrounded by the love of his wife, Dawn Lee Hellwinkel-Dunn and family members.

Born on March 27, 1937 in the Bronx, New York. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Ann Bella, father Andrew J. Dunn and sister.

A member of the US Army Corps, Rick was honorably discharged. His entrepreneurial spirit lead him down several different paths over his lifetime. Rick was an inventor, gas station owner, and an inn keeper and owner, just to name a few!

Rick loved children. One cold day, he visited a church where he observed small children playing outside, without any coats.

Upon investigation, he learned the children were all poor, and didn't own coats. Needless to say, he made sure that coats were purchased for all of the children.

Richard loved the Lord God, The Blessed Mother, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. He prayed to them every day. We are confident he was welcomed with open arms at heaven’s gate.

Rick was laid to rest at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC. He will be sorely missed.
