Robert M. Douthat

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Rob was a retired veteran of the US Navy. In 1997, he and his family moved to Cary. Following his retirement from the Navy he worked in the I.T. field. He attended Cary Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Rob was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Lee Douthat III.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Katie E. Douthat of Cary; sons, Robert Nicholas Douthat and wife Helen of China, and Kenneth Allen Douthat of Cary. He is aslo survived by his sister, Alice Thorton of Huntington, WV; his beloved granddaughters, Jennifer and Lisa Douthat of China; and his two close friends, Don and Kay Stone of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Feb. 12th at 3pm at the Cary Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior from 2-3pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County.
