Samuel Bruce Ludwig, 78, died Friday, May 7, 2010. He was born July 6, 1931 in Pitcairn, PA to the late Klair and Ruth (Smeltzer) Ludwig. Sam served in the Navy during the Korean conflict and retired from IBM after 32 years. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren, being involved in their activities and golfing.
Sam leaves behind his memory to cherish his wife of 54 years, Laura Ludwig of Raleigh, NC; three children, son, Steven Ludwig of Raleigh, NC, daughters, Cathy L. Hall of Garner, NC, Paula A. Snell and husband, Stephen of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Rachel Hall, Alex and Nicholas Snell and Allyssa Ludwig.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Klair Ludwig Jr. and Wayne Ludwig.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary. Burial will follow at Wake Memorial Park, Cary.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm, Tuesday, May 11 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd., Cary.
