He was born on July 20th, 1950 and fondly reminisced about his loving parents Catherine and Robert Gillooly and his wonderful childhood and school years in Rutherford NJ, filled with cowboys, army men, and high school football. He went to St. Vincent’s College with many of his best friends and cultivated his love of philosophy, theology, and snowball fights.
Tom followed his passion for theology to Seton Hall University and then taught in various Catholic High Schools in Northern New Jersey before starting his own HR Consulting business based in the Triangle.
With his gift for talking to anyone, he was always willing to make a phone call to help out and was forever checking on the people he loved.
Tom is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Jessie, brothers Bob and Kevin, mother-in-law Jeanette, cousins across the country, and his many friends who will think of him whenever they visit the beach, drink English Breakfast tea, see a good flick, or hear a hearty belly laugh.
He was incredibly generous in sharing both his crumb buns and his infinite love. We will keep Tom close to our hearts by lingering over breakfast, giving someone a pep talk, having a rousing discussion, or reading a good book.
