

Alex Alexander McCullough was born in Compton, California, on February 9, 1960, to Arthur and Mary McCullough. He was the third of nine children.
He was baptized in the Catholic faith. Alex attended Saint Philip Neri Elementary School in Lynwood, California, and graduated from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, in 1979. He was an outstanding running back on the football field, which carried over into his success in track and field. He was always proud of his 10.0 time, even though he once ran a 9.9 in the hundred-yard dash.
Alex worked for Pacific Electric Cord as a machinist in Gardena, California. He worked as a security guard in his spare time. Alex also worked for American Pride for 12 years as a driver and delivery man. He was well-liked by his clients before retiring from his job.
Alex met the love of his life, Gina O’Leary, whom he loved with all his heart. They were married on March 22, 1980, and from this union five children were born: Alexis, Genae (who preceded him in death), Georgette, Alexander, and Geneice.
Alex was raised in Compton, California he moved to Victorville, California, in 1988 where he began raising his family before relocating to Casa Grande, Arizona, in 2008. His hobbies included camping and fishing, activities he always enjoyed sharing with his wife and children, creating lasting memories they will cherish forever.
Cooking was one of Alex’s greatest joys. He was especially known for his Louisiana gumbo the best if you were blessed to try it, nut cake, and barbecue, dishes that never lasted long once served. Alex also loved collecting antiques and special finds, which he proudly displayed in his home.
Alex had a special gift for being a skilled handyman. He had the ability to look at something, figure out what was wrong, and repair it. He also shared that talent with cars and enjoyed diagnosing and fixing problems. Whenever someone called upon him, he was always there to help.
Alex peacefully went home to fellowship with the Lord with open arms on Tuesday, May 5, at 4:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Genae McCullough; his parents, Arthur and Mary McCullough; and his brother, Arddis McCullough.
He leaves behind to celebrate his homegoing: his loving wife, Gina McCullough; two sons Alexis McCullough and Alexander McCullough, two daughters Georgette McCullough-Jones (Jemaine), and Geneice McCullough; two granddaughters, Sheila and Angelina; his brothers, Douglas McCullough, Kevin McCullough (Marchette), Charisee McCullough, Cassandra McCullough, Eric McCullough (Susan), Adrian McCullough (Sheron), and Darrell McCullough (Norma); his aunts, Virgie Myrick and Eula “Faye” Lockett; his special cousin, Vicky Lockett-Palmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
