Richard Allen White, 76, of Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, with his wife Peggy at his side. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Richard married Peggy Borders in 1971 and earned a chemistry degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. He worked as a chemist for John H. Breck and Thomas and Betts before earning a master's degree in science education from the University of Iowa. Richard taught honors chemistry for 23 years at Casa Grande Union High School.
Known for his passion for running, Richard regularly participated in marathons and enjoyed traveling to races with Peggy. In retirement, he took up painting and shared his artwork with loved ones. He was an active First Presbyterian Church member and former Deacon.
In addition to Peggy and his best feline pal, Pepper, Richard is survived by his brothers David White (Port Orchard, WA) and Earl White (Marion, IA), sister Marjorie Meikrantz (Idaho Falls, IA), nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister-in-law Penny, nephew Daniel, and niece Stacy.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 28th, 2026 10:00a.m at First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande; 702 E Cottonwood Lane, Casa Grande. Memorials in memory of Richard can be made to; First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande, Raise The Roof Project.
