Alex Beltran, age 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 after complications from a kidney transplant. He was born in El Salvador on June 12, 1947 to Alfredo and Carmen. Alex was the second oldest of 7 children and patriarch of his family and extended family.
Alex met Rosa in Sonsonate, El Salvador after she had just moved there. She was passing him on the street and it was love at first sight. They courted for about a year before they were married. They started their family in El Salvador with the arrival for their oldest daughter and son. After moving to the United States they welcomed their final daughter to the family.
Alex kept his family safe in El Salvador while he immigrated to the United States in the early 70's to prepare a place for everyone. He worked hard for his family and the sacrifices he made created a better life and opportunities. He had a knack for education and pursued many professions as he searched for his niche. As soon as he reached California he took night classes to learn English and further his business education. His entrepreneurial mind led him to become a multi-business owner. He operated a travel agency, used car sales, convivence store and was a real estate agent. He enjoyed buying and selling land and properties. During all of his work, he remained focused on his family and was the guiding light.
Alex loved having family gatherings, traveling, playing and watching soccer. His favorite soccer team was Brazil and everyone knew him for being their biggest fan. Alex held a special place in his heart and participated heavily with the St. Jude's Association and the National Kidney Foundation. He loved to play games with the grandkids and go on family vacations.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Beltran; children: Monica Ochoa, Alex Beltran Jr., Carol Beltran; grandchildren: Melanie, Julian, Destiny, Alexis, Christopher, Nathan and Natalie. His legacy will live on through them.
