Cathy Ann Foster was born in Akron, Ohio on July 3, 1944 to Dorothy Catherine Ondrus Foster and Charles William Foster. She left this life with her family by her side on October 21, 2024. It is with our deepest sorrow to say good bye to such a wonderful mother, grandmother, and all around beautiful person. She was our hero.
In 1962, she married Michael George Kliner. Three children were born to this union. Kimberly, Michelle (Shelly), and Derek. They divorced in 1968, leaving Cathy with three tiny children to raise virtually on her own. She made many, many sacrifices for her family her entire life.
She worked as a Relocation Specialist for a large, Denver based real estate company and later she worked in sales for a nationwide credit reporting company, leading her region as top salesperson until she retired. She sometimes had up to three jobs to make ends meet Somehow she always made holidays, birthdays, and any time off with her kids special in so many ways. Her ability to wrap a present was astonishing and could win awards. She was so meticulous and creative.
She moved herself and the kids to Colorado in 1972 and later, after the kids were grown, moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, which she always considered home. Cathy was an amazing cook, putting together holiday meals for her family like it was an easy feat. She literally was always in the kitchen as much as she could be.
Later in life, when her kids were raised and out on their own, she found time to fix up her house, search for antiques at estate and garage sales, keep up with a flea market booth, gardening, sewing, and doing volunteer work for Meals of Wheels and Cheyenne Caregivers. She always helped anyone that she could throughout her whole life and as a result had many friends.
She is survived by her children Kim (George) Ehmke, Shelly Kliner, and Derek Kliner; grand kids Callie and Jace Capraro, Fred Ehmke and Jeff (Lindsey) Ehmke, Carson Mia, and Isabel Kliner; five great grandchildren Logan Cacciola, Mayson (Courtney) Cacciola, Emma Ehmke, Augustus (Gus) Ehmke, and Anna Ehmke; also one great, great grandchild Clayton Cacciola who was born two days after her passing.
She is also survived by her two brothers Chuck (Sally) Foster and Scott (Cindy) Foster; three nieces Carrie Foster, Dana (Jake) Betker, and Hope (Andrew) Darda; two grand nephews Sullivan Betker and Aiden Darda; and a grand niece Tallulah Betker. She is also survived by many friends and friends of her children and grandchildren who loved her dearly.
Cathy's smile and spunky attitude will be terribly missed.
According to Cathy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private services will be held by the family at a later date. The Foster Family appreciates the kind words of sympathy received from family and friends.
