Harvey Young passed peacefully at his home at 3:35 am on January 28, 2015 while surrounded by his family. Harvey was preceded in death by two sons (Robert and Steven). He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacke, and 6 of his 8 children: Tom Young (Cecile Ashen), Cindy Lantz (Steve), Doug Young, Karen Tatnall (Jeff), Dianne Young, Laura Young, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Harvey was born in Louisville, KY on January 21, 1933. He graduated in 1955 with a degree in Geology from University Kentucky. After his military commission and their graduation, Harvey and Jacke moved to Germany. After his military service Harvey returned to the USA and worked as a geologist in the oil and gas industry in Kentucky, Indiana and Colorado.
Services will be Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 pm at Canyons Community Church, 4825 N. Crowfoot Valley Road, Castle Rock, CO 80108. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice in Harvey's name. Thank you for all your prayers and support during this time.
