James "Jim" Edward Aguilar

Jim married Rita Jean nee Homan on August 27, 1966, and raised four sons and a daughter. His sons are Michael (Heidi), Steven (Melissa), Gerald (Jill), and Jeffrey (Shelley). His daughter is Mary Dindic. They have six grandchildren: Alexis Aguilar, Bryan Dindic, Nicholas Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar, Edin "Alex" Dindic, and Evan Aguilar.

Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sisters Rita Vaughn and Mary Lou Aguilar, and his brothers Max Aguilar and Richard "Dick" Aguilar. He is survived by his children, as well as his brother Frank of Mashpee, Massachusetts, and sister Margaret Livingston of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Creighton Prep in Omaha, Nebraska and a 1968 graduate of University of Nebraska, Omaha. He spent his formative years in Omaha, later working as a Director of Pension Underwriting for Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa from 1969 until he retired in 2003. After retirement, he moved with Rita to be closer to family, first to Omaha from 2003 to 2015, and then to Castle Rock, Colorado from 2015 until his death.

He was very energetic and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He enjoyed do-it-yourself projects which included finishing basements in his homes in Des Moines, Omaha, and Castle Rock. He was an avid collector of O-Scale Lionel trains, a passion he shared with his grandchildren. In later life he collected and built grand Lego kits.
