Kenneth Douglas Wann, aged 65 went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2021. An accomplished artist and handyman, Ken was loved by all who knew him.
It’s impossible to describe all of Ken’s talents. He was able to fabricate anything, and he was especially skilled at constructing theater sets and props. He was an amazing painter. Portraits, murals, faux finishes, fine art, Swanky-Doodles and Christmas signs. All incredibly beautiful and creative. Ken could color-match any item back to its original state. And he was a fabulous handyman – partly because he was so skilled at fixing things but also because his clients trusted him in their homes, to take care of their things. Ken would sculpt a fireplace mantle one week, repair a yard fence in the middle of a snowstorm the next week and then paint and install a child’s playroom after that. He was truly a Renaissance Man.
Kenny tackled every project with his never-ending, Ken-Do attitude. “Today’s a great day to get up and go get ‘em!” His favorite thing to say every morning when he got out of bed.
But what Ken loved doing the most was being Dad to Jackson, and they shared a special bond. Never-ending games of ping-pong, art/building projects, reading together and the ultimate: Earning their taekwondo black belts together.
Every day, Ken told Jackson this one saying, ““I love you. I’m proud of you. And I believe in you.” Our hearts are full remembering the incredible love that Ken had for Jackson.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Grady and Dottie Wann. Surviving are his wife of 26 years Susan Wann and son Jackson Wann; brothers Grady (Jane) Wann, Eric (Debbie) Wann and Kelly (Caroline) Wann; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Sandy Reed; nieces and nephews Lauren Wann, Kelson (Katie) Wann, Joshua (Becky) Wann, Michael (Julia) Wann, Becca (Dan) Taylor, Jennifer Robinson, Brittany Wann, Sequoia (Hennadi) Kuzmenko; Erin Reed-Dideo, Leslie (Chris) Lacher, Pierce Reed and numerous great-nieces/nephews and dear friends. A memorial service for Ken will take place in early-summer, 2022.
Kenny, we love you dearly and miss you fiercely. Thank you for giving it your best fight.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3; 5-6
