Born on October 4, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, Linda was raised in South Denver, the daughter of Ivan and Shirley Sweetman and one of four siblings. She graduated from Denver Christian High School in 1971, carrying with her the values of hard work, care, and determination that would guide her throughout her life.
Linda built a successful and respected career in real estate, spanning residential, commercial, and land development. She was deeply engaged in her profession and her community, generously giving her time and expertise. She served on numerous boards and commissions in the real estate industry.
Linda’s roots and later years were closely tied to Castle Rock, a community she deeply cared for and served with steady dedication. She contributed to the Town of Castle Rock Planning Commission and was actively involved in her neighborhood metro district. She believed in being involved, getting things done, and leaving things better than she found them.
She brought that same energy into her personal life. Linda was an avid gardener and a proud member of her local gardening club, often happiest outdoors tending her flowers. She stayed active, enjoying walking, pickleball, and golf, and spending time at the family cabin in Grand Lake. She also loved to travel and embraced many international adventures throughout her life, balancing a love of home with a curiosity for the world.
Above all, Linda was devoted to her family. She cherished the gift of having her children and all nine of her grandchildren nearby, filling her life with holidays, birthdays, and everyday moments that mattered most. She showed up for the people she loved with consistency, generosity, and care.
She is survived by her children, Scott (Janda) Bliek, Todd (Lauren Hayutin) Bliek, and Cady (Bliek) Dawson; her nine grandchildren, Holland and Brody Bliek, Mackenzie and Presley Bliek, Jaden, Charles, and Emerson Dawson, and Lilith and Cane Hernandez Perkins; her life partner of 18 years, Jim Perkins, and his daughter, Kellie (Manuel) Perkins; and her three siblings, Christie (Edward) Miedema, Sally (Clay) Ireton, and Ross (Tamsyn) Sweetman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda will be remembered for her steady presence, strong work ethic, and her ability to care deeply for her family, friends, and community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
