Paul grew up in Westland, Michigan and graduated from John Glenn High School in 1968. After graduation, Paul began to pursue his lifelong passion for music. During his life, he helped organize and played guitar and bass in many successful bands. In 1972, he met Rosemary De Paulis, and they married in 1973. In 1978, they decided to move to Colorful Colorado to begin their new life. In 1983 their twin sons Bryan and Kyle were born, and they brought joy and pride of being a father into Paul’s life every day. Paul had very fulfilling careers in many fields. He worked in the transportation industry as a driver, owner operator, driver instructor, and transportation director. He also became a realtor and sold real estate in the Elizabeth area. Paul was the president of the Forest Park Homeowners Association for many years and served on the Elbert County Planning Commission for over a decade.
During Paul’s life, he spent time on his second passion: Art. He completed many oil paintings and in particular landscapes of places the family visited in the southwest, particularly in New Mexico. Santa Fe was a favorite vacation spot Paul, Rose, Bryan, and Kyle visited every year.
Paul was an individual who knew no strangers. Often when out in public, strangers would come up to Paul and begin talking to him about just about everything. He had a way with people. Although he was 6’ 3”, he was a gentle person. He was affectionately given the nickname by his wife, “The Gentle Giant."
In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Denver Rescue Mission of Denver, Colorado. They had a very special place in Paul’s heart.
