To The Gill Family, 
I flew with Bob in the 391st TFS out of Cam Rahn Bay in 1966. Wife Karen was cleaning out an old box of cards and came across a card and a picture of Bob, wife Linda and their sons Marc and Matthew.
Out of curiosity, I started a Google search and discovered Bob passed away in 2015.  Our condolences to the family.  We retired from the AF and now live in Flagstaff AZ.

Bob was by far the best Father in law in the world. I had so much respect for him. He was a fine man. A man of honor and pride. Rest in peace Dad I will miss you.

I fell very privileged to have volunteered  with such an incredible man at the Colorado  Railroad Museum.  May he rest in peace!

COL Gill was a fellow Vietnam Veteran who was my class mate at Amtrak Assistant Conductors training class in 1994. He was a natural leader and a keen student of operating rules and their proper application. Safety was his by word at all times.  When he had a chance to go to locomotive engineer school and live his boyhood dream we knew that he was on cloud 9. He became a leader in the locomotive engineers union (BLET) and was a tireless advocate for operational safety. When COL Gill retired he left a legacy of safe operations in all crafts at Amtrak. We were all better Conductors and Engineers because of him.

oh very well is a statement that will be remembered with his voice.  His charm, wisdom, and humor were unique and brightened everyone's day.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.  Sir, I am blessed to have known you, worked with you, and learned from you.  You truly will be missed.

Bob was a good man and a mentor to me in my early flight training.  Always quick with insight and wit.  You will be missed by all.

Lt.col..as I called him will be truly missed. He was a true professional and his attention to detail was empecable ! From his goody table for the 2nd trick to his relentless pursuit of perfection. I learned from "52 B" the importance of crossing your "T's"..& dotting your "I's"...when you get in the seat.....May your soul rest in peace!  aka "The Vicar "

There was only one colonel gill.   He was a man of integrity.  A fine engineer and a man I respected.    One  who I will miss.  One who was never at a loss for words. And the man could make a damn good cup of coffee!!!    We traded secrets on Irish coffee.    Mr gill will go to the head of the line at the heaven's gate.    A man who left his mark here on earth. Robert Gill and I began our rail careers in the same class at Amtrak. Over the ensuing years, I grew to respect his insights and our conversations on a host of topics. He was truly an asset as a Locomotive Engineer, but importantly as a man providing life wisdom. I truly admired and respected my classmate. My prayers and fullest condolences are extended to the Gill family.

Never have I mourned the loss of a friend more then I do for the "COL". Our mutual love of aviation,military, and our careers together at Amtrak will always be remembered by me. The conversations on many topics at many levels,,our E.mailings to each other discussing the events of the day,will be sorely missed by me. Rest in peace Bob,I will miss you. Mr. Gill was a truly respected member of the AMTRAK Locomotive Engineers. We always enjoyed his repertoire in the crew rooms.  I have kept in touch with him while in retirement and he brought me many a laugh when he mentioned the terrible weather he was experiencing this past winter. While ours wasn't a whole lot better.  I will miss the connection we had and his many stories.
