Thomas Steven Pattison, age 84 of Denver, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on December 18, 1939 in Denver, Colorado, the son of William Pattison and Alice Mae Magnie Pattison. Thomas married Sheila Adams in 1963 and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage together before his passing.
Tom was a native Coloradan whose ancestors settled in Longmont in the late 1800’s. He was a 1957 graduate of East High School in Denver. After high school, he began working as a stock boy for Denver Dry Goods and worked his way up the ladder to Director of Store Planning and Construction. After retiring from The Denver, he started his own handyman business called “Have Tools, Will Travel” that he operated well into his 70’s. The name was a play on the title of a western TV series in the 50’s and 60’s called Have Gun, Will Travel. Tom loved old western movies.
Tom loved to play baseball as a kid and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was passionate about automobiles, classic cars and muscle cars - especially his Chevys. He owned several Chevelles and a 1970 Nova before restoring a 1934 Ford street rod and the “34 Boop” was his signature car to showcase. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed country western dancing with his wife and spending time with his family. Tom had a great sense of humor and the grandkids always looked forward to his “Pa Pa jokes” in text messages and at family events.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter Cindy Marten and husband Jeff; grandchildren Tawny Palm and husband Collin, Teagan Hurst and husband Sean, and Terrah Welch and fiancé Dylan Brison; great grandchildren Landon and Kylah Hurst; and his sister, Ann baker and her husband Joe of Georgetown, Texas; his niece Karey Larson and her husband Brett, and their children Jacob and Alana; and niece Kelly Villaescusa and children Nolan, Wyatt and Brady.
According to Thomas’ wishes, cremation has taken place and private services will be held by the family.
