On December 16, 2014; EDNA IKENA MORRIS; 102, of Charlestown Retirement Community, passed away. She is the beloved wife of the late Rev. Melvin R. Morris, who served a number of pastorates in the Presbyterian Church, USA; loving mother of John Morris and the late Jane Elizabeth Morris; dear sister of the late Ruth Rosser, Grace Frey, and Doris Smoot; cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. Edna was a graduate of Towson State Normal School in 1934. She later went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Psychology while teaching in Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public Schools. She primarily taught special education at Towson Elementary School. Edna was an extensive world traveler. In her later years, she was a member of Catonsville Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service is planned for a later date in January. A graveside service will be held 1PM, Monday, December 22 at Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Catonsville Presbyterian Church, 1400 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.
