Words cannot express the sorrow my wife and I felt when belatedly hearing of John's passing.  Although I only knew John for a few short years, getting to know him, enjoying his dry, quick and keen sense of humor, and playing music with him is something I'll cherish. Please accept my deepest, heartfelt condolences at this most difficult of times.

I was saddened to hear about John's passing. We knew each other since Kindergarten, but went separate ways after graduation from LHS. He was always a fun, but very genuine friend, Having a friend like him sitting behind you is what made it possible to get through Biology class! My prayers go out to all of his family!

Mr. John is one of my most influential male figures. I loved him like a father and can still barely believe this news. Mr. John always was quick with his wit and kept a smile on the faces around him. I'll always remember you and the smiles you gave me. Watch over us! With lots of love, Courtney

I'm sorry to be only hearing of this now. John and I were kids, growing up 2 blocks from each other in Arbutus. Playing ball, riding bikes, and always in the stream during the summer, I will always have cherished memories of John. I probably hadn't spoken to him in 30 years, but there isn't a day that goes by that I didn't think of him. My condolences to JC, wife Debbie and his entire family.

I don't know if you remember me.  Your mom babysat my boys, Jason, Tyler and Duncan for years when Jessie and Bryan were little.  I have never forgotten your family and I was heart broken when I heard about John.  My prayers are with you and the kids.

I had the pleasure of meeting John at LHS.  What drew me to him was the  kind and gentle way he treated everyone.   Although our friendship parted shortly after graduation we were reunited years later through our sons who played baseball and music together. For that I am grateful.  John you were a special man and will be dearly missed. My deepest sympathy to Debbie & family.

I only knew you for a short time you will truly be missed. No words can described how much you meant. I will really miss the funny jokes and corrections to my emails. God has call you to a better place where the sun is always shining. To your wife and children continueously praying for you.

So sorry about John, I knew him from the time I was a little girl. May god be with you Deb and your  children and family in this time of sorrow, my prayers are with you girl.

I am at a loss for words...I have known you for over 30 years you have been a huge part of our family.  I just wanted to thank you for being a truly loving husband to my sister and a truly loving father to my nieces and nephew. I knew Johnny and Debbie in our younger years.  Johnny was one of the kindest people I ever met -- a great person with a passionate heart. He cared so deeply about people and had a gentleness about him.  He had reached out and touched my heart many times and it was solely because of him that I had the opportunity to say goodbye to his Mom who meant so much to me . . . an opportunity for which I would always be so grateful to him.   Life took us in different directions, but Johnny and Debbie have always had a place in my heart.  I am so sorry for your sudden loss, Deb, but I know you to be a strong person with a loving family and lots of supportive friends.  Lean on them to pull you through. Clearly, this is Heaven's gain.  John's love for Debbie, his family, and his friends was an inspiration to those of us who were blessed with knowing him.  John's and Debbie's love and bond forged a family strong enough to survive the enormity of this loss, as difficult as it may be.

Very sad to have lost one of the good guys in the world so prematurely. John loved his family, his friends, and his music, and in his younger days he and Debbie loved to ride in the country on their Harley. Good times and great memories all the way back to Junior High School, John, thank you! It's those fond memories that will help all of us get thru this next week.....

My heart is heavy. A good man has left this earth much too soon. I am one of the many MTA family who knew and worked with John for years. He cared about those around him and would go the extra step to help. He was also a friend to me and I will miss talking to him. I'm sorry we never got to take pictures together, I know it would have been great.
