Albro Dietz Vrooman Jr. has been called home by our Lord and departed this world on September 29, 2023, at the age of 93 years old. Albro, known as Al, left peacefully, while supported by his loving family. He leaves us with enduring memories of warmth, kindness, and wisdom.
Al was born on August 11, 1930 in Schenectady, New York, to the late Albro D. Vrooman Sr and Fredricka Vrooman.
Al was a proud graduate of St. Michael's College in Vermont and he served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.
Al will be fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Al was the loving husband to his beloved wife, Elinor Busino Vrooman, for 66 years and a devoted father to his children, Albro III (Toni), Jennifer (Jim) and Todd (Laura). Along with his grandchildren, Albro IV, Morgan, Lauren, Julia, Spencer, and Gianna. They all brought him immeasurable joy and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Al was a self-made man, based on the teaching of his faith and foundations learned from his parents and extended family. He enjoyed a distiguished business career, which gave him the opportunity to provide for his family and travel the United States, while mentoring and building teams of dedicated employees for IBM and Control Data. He retired at a senior level within these organizations.
Besides family and work, Al loved his hobbies. He practiced his faith with his wife Elinor and was devoted to and enjoyed the beautiful lands of Colorado and Florida. He enjoyed vintage cars and was especially fond of Jaguar automobiles. He enjoyed his gardening and maintained beautiful landscapes for all too see. Finally, Al loved sports, especially his Colorado teams!
