Still missing my Uncle Carl.  I so hope he is playing cards, smoking cigars and enjoying his Jack Daniels again.  I think of him and Aunt Lucille on the regs and look forward to seeing them again one day.  It is hard to believe that six years have gone by since he passed over.  May the love and light of the Lady shine upon him forever more.  So mote it be!  Blessed Be!

Carl and Lucille were important people to me growing up in Laramie, Wyoming.  They raised two wonderful children, Linda and Gary, and were kind and involved members of the community.  Although I wasn't fortunate enough to see Carl in recent years, the memory of his congenial manner and generous nature will stay with me always.  My love to his family. Growing up in Laramie Wyoming, I remember Carl McDaniel, as a soft spoken, kind father of Linda, my friend. It was always fun to be around Carl and his great houses. Also his horses. Fun!  I  remember riding our bikes to his office / business on 2nd St. Linda would get money from him, and Carl always chatted with all of us teen age girls.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Linda and Gary.

Carl was lucky enough to pass away in his own home and in his own bed.  He had such a wonderful family who loved him and made sure he was always included in family events.  He enjoyed life and looked forward to driving to get coffee weekly with his golfing friends. He will be missed.

I told him to stay out of trouble because I couldn't go his bail.  I was fortunate enough to be Carl's niece and have been blessed with a life time of wonderful memories of him.  I remember him as a young man.  How handsome he was and how kind.  I will always remember his laugh and will think of him every time I smell a cigar.  He had a wonderful life filled with knowledge, people and adventures.  How lucky he was!  To have served his county with honor, found the love of his life, raised a fabulous family and lived to know his great-grandchildren is how it's SUPPOSED to be done and he did it so very well.  Here's to a life well lived!  I love you, Uncle Carl.  That will never change.

Carl was a gentleman.  The dictionary defines a gentleman as "a chivalrous, courteous, or honorable man".  Carl McDaniel epitomizes that definition.  He was a kind, caring, decent man who has left a legacy we should all aspire to.  He served his family, his friends, his community, and his country with honor and grace.   He will be dearly missed.
