We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Daphne Lin, who left us on Monday 25th November after a sudden and unexpected battle with necrotizing fasciitis. Born in Taiwan on 9th September 1986, Daphne was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and laughter filled every room. Daphne went to high school at National Lan-Yang Girls Senior High School making many friends, specifically her best friends Carol Hsiao, Jill Lu, Fenny Chu, and Vicky Huang, graduating in 2004. During her teenage years she liked to watch American TV shows and dreamt of travelling the globe.
Daphne was academically talented, and attended Soochow University in Taiwan, obtaining her BA in English Language and Literature in 2008, and where she became the National Champion in the Collegiate English Speech Contest and was a delegate at the National Model United Nations. During her course, she became the first student at the University to attend an exchange program with Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, a country she loved. Shortly after graduating, she traveled back to Australia and between 2010 and 2017 obtained her two Master’s Degrees in Cross-Cultural Communication at the University of Sydney, and Professional Accounting at King’s Own Institute.
In 2017, she met her soulmate, Dominik, at the iconic Sydney Opera House, a romance that flourished into marriage at the historic Denver City Council building in 2019. Together, they welcomed twin sons, Logan Channing and Hugh Thomas on the 3rd of August 2023, who were the light of her life and who she loved beyond measure. As a family they spent their time visiting parks, friends around Denver, and they even managed to travel to Taiwan and Europe during the summer of 2024.
Daphne is survived by her loving husband, Dominik, and their precious boys, as well as her devoted family living in Taiwan and London; her parents Ta-li Lin and Mei-hui Yu, and her sister Catherine, and her husband and son, Jerry and Aaron. Her friendly personality, kindness, and zest for life will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
She was a lover of travel, finding joy in exploring new places and cultures, and especially tasting new and exciting foods. A bright star has left our midst, but her spirit will continue to shine in our hearts.
Daphne, you will be dearly missed by your family and friends. Until we meet again... 💔
A celebration of life for Daphne Yu Mei will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121, followed by a reception from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
