With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edwin Gene Lucius Jackson, 89, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, known lovingly as “Papa,” or “Pop.” He passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on March 31, 2026. To his wife, Jennifer, he was simply “Daddy,” a reflection of their 61 year long marriage and long life together.
A man of faith, Pop lived with kindness, humility, and quiet strength. After retiring from the City of Denver and a family run business, Pop found his favorite retirement activity by being Bass Pro Shop’s most famous greeter. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and, most of all, eating good food. Time spent with him was filled with laughter, stories, and lasting memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, his children, and his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. In the words of Thomas Campbell, “To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die.”
His service will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Monday, April 6th at 1:30 pm.
