OBITUARY

Elizabeth Cora Card

31 March, 1961 – 3 November, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Chapel Hill

Elizabeth (Beth) Cora Card, 63, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on November 3, 2024 in Englewood, Colorado with the loving support of her daughter, Melanie and son in law, Jack.

Beth was born on March 31, 1961 in Hartford, Connecticut to Richard F. Card Sr. and Jean E. (Stone) Card.

Beth shared a birthday with both her father and her brother, Dickie. When she was growing up, she made fond memories of camping in Maine and flying with her father. Her favorite job was at Crand’s Candy Castle, where she would eat big slabs of fudge.

Beth lived most of her life in Colorado, enjoying gardening and crafts. She took the time every year to make her children's Halloween costumes, including Brett’s most memorable, Bart-man from The Simpsons. Beth loved the Moody Blues and shared that love with her daughter by taking her to over a dozen of their concerts.

In more recent years, Beth called Rapid City, South Dakota home and enjoyed watching British comedies with her cats and crocheting scarves for those in need of warmth.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Alyssa and Bella for keeping Beth’s home in order and spirits high during her time living in South Dakota. She carried a lot of love in her heart for both of you.

Beth is survived by her son, Brett Elson and his spouse, Kirstin Mitzel, of New Underwood, SD; her daughter Melanie Elson and her spouse, Jack Neuner, of Littleton, CO; her sister, Deborah (Card) Lise’e and her husband, Andre’, of Bloomfield, CT; her brother, Richard Card, Jr. of Stafford Springs, CT; and her two cats, Oliver and Lulu.

She was predeceased by her father, Richard F. Card Sr., her mother, Jean E. Card, and her nephew, Ross Card.

Memorial donation can be made to the Denver Rescue Mission (https://denverrescuemission.org/) and Battle Mountain Humane Society (https://www.battlemountainhumanesociety.org/) in our mom’s honor.
