By age 16, Gabby already led a very full life. While many would know her for the dedicated student she was in the classroom, this was only a very small part of Gabby. She excelled in school and was part of the Senate and National Honor society at Highlands Ranch High School. But to know Gabby is to know that her real enjoyment of life was not in books.
She had so many passions in life and on any given day, you would never know what Gabby was up to. Outdoors was where Gabby spent most of her time growing up. She enjoyed sports and played softball, basketball (she was never afraid to get in there and mix it up with girls that were literally twice her size), golf, and track. But for much of her life, you could find her many weekends on a soccer field like all of the Croppers. When not playing soccer, you could find her skiing, fishing or traveling with her family.
As much as Gabby enjoyed sports, her greatest talent was art. She was recognized many times by the school district for her incredible artwork. She was a prolific and talented artist, and you can find paintings and artwork from Gabby all through her house, as well as the rest of her relatives. She especially liked to draw and bring color to almost any scene. While she loved to create, it was the smile that came to our faces when we received Gabby artwork that really brought a light to her face.
But to truly know Gabby was to know that she had a huge heart in that little body. She had such a soft heart for those who were struggling or needed help. She volunteered at Café 180 and Littleton Hospital. If there was a cause – Gabby was usually for it. There was an especially soft spot in Gabby’s heart for animals, especially dogs. Nothing meant more to Gabby than her furry friends. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her crazy rescue pugs Finn and Timmy who followed her everywhere! She had also shared her love with two other lucky pugs, Brutus and Dizzy.
But above it all was Gabby’s faith in Jesus. Her Christian walk began in baptism just a couple of weeks after she was born, and reached a milestone in 2018 at her confirmation. Gabby’s confirmation verse is Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Gabby always knew where her hope, joy and peace came from.
She will be missed desperately by so many. But we know it will be just a short while before we see her again with our Lord Jesus in Heaven.
