

Gale Dean Lilly passed away at his home in Littleton, Colorado after a long battle with congestive heart failure and COPD on July 5, 2010 at the age of 81. He was a life long Denver native, born on November 29, 1928. Gale attended Denver West High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1947. He loved to cook and was very disappointed to discover boys were not allowed to take Home Economics. He changed that policy and Home Ec at West High has been co-ed ever since. He worked at Gates Rubber Company for 13 years, then worked as a printer for A.B. Hirschfeld Press for 32 years until retirement.
Gale is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandie; his daughters Gail Lewis (Dick Lewis) and Cheryl Davis; his grandchildren Taryn, T.J., Karlyn, Kathriann, Brannon, Samuel, Jacob, Ada Mae, Emily, Suzannah, Bryant and Jonathan; 15 great grandchildren; and his sister, Norma Glaze. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and was known as Uncle-Pops by Molly, Sophie and Hannah.
Gale is preceded in death by his parents Warden and Ollie; brothers Wilber, Elbert and Warden, Jr.; son Terry; and son-in-law David Davis.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, with the funeral services following on Monday, July 12th at 10:00 AM. Both services will be at the Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Littleton, CO 80121.
