Always in our hearts

Jerry as he was known to friends and family died on Tuesday, June 1st. He was 78. Born in St. Louis, Missouri during a historic period of war production and rationing, his family relocated to Idaho where Jerry was raised by his loving mother, Ella.

As a youth and teen he spent his time working in the fields helping with the potato harvest, hunting and fishing, and as a three-sport student athlete at Firth High School. Additionally, Jerry became known on a first name basis by the Idaho State Police and local patrolmen for his ability to get the highest performance out of his automobiles.

He later attended Idaho State University (‘64) and Denver University where he earned a Master's in Business Administration. Like many men of his age Jerry served his country honorably in the Idaho Army National Guard’s Snake River Regiment, learning how to lead small teams and trained for Vietnam. Soon thereafter he met and wed Karen Heimsch of Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Jerry and Karen reared two children during his accomplished business career spent in the fields of accounting, cable television, and finance. His success led him to being named President/Chief Executive Officer of several Northern Colorado businesses including; a community bank, a global supplier of high-quality packaging products, call center, health diagnostics products company, and an innovative home inspection business.

Jerry was happiest fly fishing on the Snake and Cache la Poudre Rivers, golfing, or watching his kids and grandkids participate in athletics. Always with a smile on his face and an infectiously positive attitude, he retreated to the warm weather of Scottsdale, and lived his last years surrounded by family and friends at the Pueblo Norte Senior Living community.

He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Kincheloe of Centennial, daughter Kendra (Jeff) Anderson of Scottsdale, his son Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Brent (Jill) Tschikof and 5 grandsons (Cameron, Jaxon, Ian, Carter, Owen). His legacy of family and values lives on in their lives and futures. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ella Tschikof, and an infant son Bradford John.

Jerry , Was a good man. Always willing to give advice or help a friend out. I remember our times playing golf, traveling, and playing cards. He loved playing euchre, especially if he won. We all have "Jerry " stories. He will be missed. Rest in Peace, Bill & Michelle

While Linda and I are unable to be there to say our final goodbye to Jerry, we would like to share what we will remember most about him.
That was how proudly he talked about you Kendra and you Brent and his grand children. It wasn’t just on an occasion, it was throughout the years as you guys became adults, started your careers and your own families. Jerry was a father that didn’t hesitate sharing his love for his family with his friends. That is how we will remember him.
Rest in Peace Jerry.

Jerry was a long time friend and golfing buddy. We shared a lot of good times together. There was nothing he enjoyed more than talking (bragging) about his kids and grandkids. Sherry and I will miss him greatly…our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
