Howard R. Allmer of Aurora went home to be with the lord in the morning hours of July 27, 2015. Born on December 20, 1933 to Fred Allmer and Elizabeth Vanlaninghan of Milliken, Colorado; Howard has now been reunited with the loved ones that have preceded him in death: step brother, Constantine “Shorty” Banta, stepson, Kenneth “Kenny” Nichol. Always showing a zest for life, Howard was a man of many talents, whether it was pulling fifth wheel trailers, building something needed or just planting vegetables. A true conversationalist, Howard could strike up a chat with just about anyone he came across. He is survived by his wife, Delphina Allmer, stepson, Michael McDonald, brother, George Allmer, niece, Carolyn Craig, Niece, Bobbie Salaz, nephew, Jerry Banta, nephew, Glenn Banta, great nephew, John Robert “JR” Craig. Services are on Thursday August 13 at 9:00 am at the Chapel Hill Mortuary with a reception to follow the services in the reception area. Howard’s ashes will be scattered by those who wish to attend at the Mount Lindo location at 12:00 pm.
